Share a folder with read and write access
Folders are shared only through a share link: a unique URL you copy and send. With Read & write on that link, anyone who opens the URL can add, change, and remove bookmarks inside the folder. They cannot delete the folder itself or change sharing settings — only the owner can.
Use read-write sharing when collaborators need to maintain the same list together, without joining your full organization. Because the URL is the credential, send it only to people you trust, and revoke it when the collaboration ends.
Prerequisites
- The folder exists in a workspace you control. See Create a folder.
- You understand that Read & write lets recipients change bookmark content inside the folder. Prefer read-only sharing for view-only audiences.
- Plan how you will distribute the URL (chat, email, ticket). There is no invite-by-email flow for folder links.
Steps
Open the folder's Share dialog
Right-click the folder in the sidebar and choose Share folder.
Set the permission to Read & write
In the Permission dropdown, select Read & write.

Copy the share link
Use Copy share link. Anyone with that URL gets read-write access to this folder until you revoke it. There is no separate “invite by email” path for folder sharing — access is always via this link.
Save
Click Save if the dialog requires it, then send the copied URL to the people who should collaborate.
Change or end access
Reopen the Share dialog and revoke the link when that URL should stop working. To use a different permission (for example read-only instead of read-write), change the Permission setting, Save, then Copy share link again and share the new URL.
Troubleshooting
- Collaborators cannot add bookmarks — confirm Permission is Read & write, that you saved, and that they opened the latest copied URL (not an older read-only link).
- Someone deleted bookmarks you needed — revoke the link immediately, then restore content from your own history if available, or re-import. For permanent teammates, prefer Invite members with clear roles.
- Recipients ask for an account — they do not need one for folder share links. If they must work across many folders and workspaces, invite them to the organization instead.
- Need view-only access — switch the permission to Read or create a separate read-only link as described in Share in read-only mode.
